Trusts and foundations have been playing a vital role in supporting all areas of our work since the founding of our school almost 50 years ago.    As we embark upon our exciting plans for the future, the role of trusts and foundations will continue to be pivotal to our success in providing excellence in musical education for gifted young musicians - irrespective of their social or financial background - for many more years to come.

We are grateful to the trusts and foundations that have been supporting us over the years and for making so much possible.  This generosity has made a difference to the lives of many students over the years through areas such as:

Capital projects: The Menuhin Hall, Harris House – now home to 16 students

Bursaries: Provision of means-tested bursaries for deserving students

Facilities and resources: Musical instruments and digital equipment

We now seek further support in the coming years to turn towards our exciting plans into reality so that the school will be in the best position - with the necessary resources, equipment and buildings - to remain at the forefront as a leading centre of excellence for the training of young and gifted musicians in the 21st century.

In particular, we are seeking funds from trusts and foundations to help us in 2 key priority areas of development: New Music Studios and Bursary Fund (permanent endowment).

There are many reasons why The Yehudi Menuhin School by its nature and purpose is worthy of continued investment and here a just a few:

OUR ETHOS: we remain wholly committed to the ethos of the School as Lord Menuhin intended, with the offering of places to students on a ‘needs-blind’ basis.

SMALL SPECIALIST SCHOOL: we are able to closely nurture and support each student’s musical talent and all-round development

DEVELOPING YOUNG TALENT: our alumni include many renowned musicians including Tasmin Little OBE, Alina Ibragimova, Nicola Benedetti, Kathryn Stott and Paul Watkins - a testament to our ability to identify and nurture the musicians of the future.

STUDENT SUCCESS: Students successfully move on from the School to continue their studies at Conservatoires in the UK and Europe.

If you would like to talk to us we would be delighted to hear from you and we welcome visits from trusts and foundations that want to find out more about our School, our students and our development plans.
