The Yehudi Menuhin School has always valued our commitment to working with the wider community, using our various areas
of expertise to enhance musical education and the world of the Arts in general.
As lead members of the Surrey Music Hub, we are continuing with this work in
the coming academic year, and current projects include:
A valued opportunity for young performers aged between 5 and 16 to come and play to one of the Menuhin School teachers. There are also group aural sessions, a concert, and a tour of the school.
Choral singers are invited to come and sing in a scratch performance of one of the great choral works, accompanied by the Menuhin School's orchestra.
Visits to homes for the elderly have been a feature of concert programming for many years, with groups of the School's pupils giving concerts of up to one hour in length and afterwards talking to the residents.
An end-of-year Schools Concert is given each July in The Menuhin Hall. The varied programme, which includes solo and orchestral items, and audience participation, is designed to help children learn and listen to music.
